New student? Follow the complete OSCE practice steps
Start with the step-by-step student guide. This simulator guides you through the official timing, simulated patient, oral questions, emergency response and post-station review.
Step 1: Read the station stem
Read the case carefully, identify red flags, and plan your patient encounter. Press Start to begin.
- Identify your main task and safety concerns.
Stage: stem reading. 2 minutes. The countdown displays total session time and automatically advances through the four stages.
Simulated patient
Patient conversation unlocks during the 15-minute interaction phase. Ask questions by typing, or use the quick prompts. Responses come from a limited educational script and may not reflect every clinical detail.
Self-assessment and safety review
This is step 7: mark only behaviours you performed, and complete the safety check. Evaluate observable behaviours, not an official CANRA grade. Serious safety omissions should be discussed with a qualified clinical educator.
After-station case analysis & personal progress
This feedback compares your recorded actions with a learning checklist. It does not automatically evaluate clinical correctness, spoken performance, or examination readiness.
Strengths — behaviours you marked complete
Learning gaps — behaviours to repeat
Complete worked clinical case and model answers
These examples become visible after you save the attempt. They provide educational reasoning and are not official answer keys.
Time used in each phase
Personal improvement plan
Clinical safety: Any missed red flags, unsafe procedures or incorrect emergency responses require review with a qualified clinical educator. The scripted simulation cannot verify clinical competence.
